The MTE series A sine wave filters provide a smooth sine wave voltage output for variable speed drives.
 
The filters are suitable for PWM modulated inverters with switching speeds between 2 and 8 kHz.
Harmonic distortion is typically less than 5% at full load. They are particularly essential for extremely long runs of motor cables or where the VSD is working into a transformer such as the step up transformer of a bore hole pump.
 
Other applications include the use where VSD motors are used in intrinsically safe areas where both the peak voltages in the cables and at the motor terminals need to be reduced to within acceptable safety limits.
 
This type of sinewave filter is absolutely essential with the use of a very long VSD motor cable, where motor temperature, motor audible noise and interference to adjacent systems need to be reduced.
 
The new MTE A Series of sine wave filters can be supplied for both 415 volt and 690 volt VSD systems and high current optional ratings up to 1,600 amps are possible.
 
These dv/dt filters can be supplied as IP-00 open panel construction or mounted in cabinets.
