The new Schaffner FN 3280 three-phase, four-wire EMC filters, available from Westek Electronics , are suitable for conducted common mode and differential mode RFI attenuation to 30MHz and higher. Schaffner FN 3280 filters have low leakage currents below 1mA. The topology of the filters comprises of two sets of common core inductors in the three phase and neutral conductors (one set at the line, and one set at the load end) providing high asymmetrical RFI insertion loss, Cx capacitors in star-circuit configuration at the line end, intermediate Cx capacitors with leakage resistors in star configuration (for symmetrical noise suppression) and a Cy/Ry capacitor to the protective earth line. The Schaffner FN 3280 filter provides the necessary attenuation requirements for a large range of industrial applications including CNC installations with as many as 12 driven axes, and long cable runs extending to 20m. The Schaffner filters are rated for line voltages to 520V (phase voltages to 300V), and current ratings to 600A at nt temperature.
