The new DIN-rail mounting, Janitza Power
Quality Analyser (model UMG 604) performs
comprehensive power and power quality
analyses, and can communicate, utilizing a
large number of protocols, with SCADAs, PLCs,
ProfiBus, and Modbus systems as well as
building management systems such as BACnet
and providing demand control.
As such the Janitza UMG 604 Power Quality
Analyser is suited to both analytical and
control tasks including UPS systems, standby
generators, power factor control, control of
active harmonic filters, etc.
Utilising a 500 MHz CPU/DSP the Janitza UMG
604 Power Quality Analyser can detect
transients as small as 50 microseconds, and
measures harmonics to the 40th order. The
instrument monitors three phases and
neutral; measuring phase and line volts,
phase current, power and apparent power.
Analysis is performed in terms of
symmetrical components (positive, negative
and zero phase sequence). Voltage sag and
over-voltage incidents, minimum, maximum and
average value are computed over programmable
time intervals. Analysis results are stored
in the instrument’s internal flash memory of
128 MB capacity.
The Janitza UMG 604 Power Quality Analyser
is provided with digital inputs and outputs
as well a temperature sensor. RS 232 and RS
485 ports are provided, the latter
supporting Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus DP40 and
BACnet. In addition Ethernet 10/100 Base TX,
FTP/TFTP are supported.
