AC/DC-Capacitors (E62)

Because of their high AC-voltage load capacity and outstanding suitability for high rms and surge currents, E62-capacitors are widely used in power electronics applications, e.g. as commutation, supporting, smoothing, and surge discharge capacitors, and in AC filters.. They are filled with environmentally-friendly vegetable oil. The capacitors also have a high specific ratio of capacitance to volume.
The low loss factor of the dielectric compensates to a large extent for the losses caused by the non-sinusoidal voltages.
 

Three-phase AC capacitors (E62-3ph)

These capacitors which have been designed especially for harmonic filtering in three-phase mains and have outstanding high AC-voltage load capacity and suitability for high rms and surge currents. Because of their construction they have a very low series resistance and a small self-inductance. The standard design has a capacitance tolerance of ±5%. Tighter tolerances are available on request.

The three capacitor elements are connected in delta internally; vegetable oil filling serves for improved heat dissipation. The finger-proof screw terminals of designs L and M (rated IP20) make for simpler connections.
3. DC-capacitors for General Use (E63)

The special kind of films and coatings used in the E63-capacitors makes them suitable y for applications with high rms currents, e.g. as smoothing or supporting capacitors in buffer storage circuits. Filled with environmentally-friendly vegetable oil, these capacitors also have a high specific ratio of capacitance to volume. At the same time, they are extremely over voltage proof.

Electronicon compensating capacitors in self-healing MKP-technology are AC capacitors designed for individual correction of the power factor of transformers and magnetic ballasts in discharge lamps (e.g. fluorescent lamps, halogen and metal vapour lamps, high-pressure mercury vapour lamps, sodium lamps) in networks with a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.

Available as capacitor type A acc. to EN61048 in plastic or aluminium can with patented temperature fuse (series E05 and E06), optional without fuse (series E01 and E02).

Available as capacitor type B according to EN61048 in hermetical aluminium can with integrated overpressure mechanism (break-action mechanism, “BAM"), series E12 and E13.
 

Power Factor Correction capacitors for 50/60Hz-mains

MKPg™/MKP
Electronicon’s know how and first-class production facilities provide two basic technologies: MKP and MKPg™.
In MKP capacitors, the winding elements are surrounded by poison-free vegetable oil, in MKPg™ –capacitors, the elements are immersed by neutral insulation gas.

The MKP- and MKPg™-capacitors are well-suited for all conventional applications in power factor correction, and can – if required - be adapted to your most critical and stressing requirements.

All Electronicon capacitors have a self-healing dielectric and are provided with an irreversible overpressure disconnector (break-action mechanism, "BAM").
